The Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning, Trade and Investment wishes to inform small tourism establishments and stakeholders in the tourism industry that, effective 1st January 2026, the Tourism Environmental Sustainability Levy of SCR 25 per person per night applicable to visitors staying in small accommodation establishments (establishments with 1 to 24 rooms) has been abolished.

This measure was announced by the President Dr. Patrick Herminie during his Maiden Address to the National Assembly and has now been given legal effect through the Environment Protection (Tourism Environmental Sustainability Levy) (Amendment) Regulations, 2025, which came into force as of 1st January 2026.

However, any levy collected during the month of December, 2025 will still need to be remitted to the Seychelles Revenue Commission by the 21st January, 2026.
