The Trade Division, in collaboration with the United National Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), is undertaking a project for the development of Seychelles’ first Step-by-Step Guide for Trade in Goods under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement.
The aim of the guide is for it to serve as a practical tool that will facilitate the export process of Seychellois products, into the African continent, under the AfCFTA.
At present, the project currently spans from September 2025 to December 2025, during the month of October 2025, the Consultant and the Trade Division representatives conducted a series of the consultative meetings, with the various entities of Government involved in trade and trade related matters. The meetings also included discussions with various Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) also involved in trade and trade related matters, such as Belliche Seychelles, Precious Plastic Seytreasures and Blue Fire Lady.
These exchanges served to gauge information on these businesses’ products, processes and readiness to venture into the continental market as well as the potential challenges encountered during the course of trade. This project underscores and is pivotal to Seychelles’ efforts towards regional and continental integration and implementing the Seychelles AfCFTA National Implementation Strategy.
