Benefit of the Certificate of Charity Status


As part of the Fifth Schedule of the Business Tax Act, 2009, a business donating towards an NGO is allowed to deduct the donation at the rate of 150%. Its main purpose is to encourage and incentivize more support towards the NGO’s cause and activities.

Application Process for Charity Status


  • The first step of the process starts with submission at Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles (CEPS). The Association must complete the application form for Charity Status, available at the link below:

The review process of the application is carried out by CEPS and the Ministry responsible for Finance. Should the applicant be in line with all their obligations, a Certificate of Charity Status is issued.

Important Note


The Certificate of Charity Status is valid for a period of one year from the date the Certificate is signed and is renewable once it is expired. The process for renewal is the same as the first submission.
