Departure of Principal Secretary for Trade

The Ministry for Finance, National Planning and Trade announces the departure of the Principal Secretary of Trade- Mr. Francis Lebon, effective 30th September, 2024.

Upon completing his contract, Mr. Lebon has decided the time is right to move in the private sector.

Mr. Lebon was appointed Principal Secretary for Trade in September 2022.

Prior to his appointment, he was the Chief Executive Officer of the Fair Trading Commission for 5 years.

In his tenure, he ensured trade policy had a more inclusive approach and was geared towards positioning Government as a facilitator, and the private sector as drivers of sustained growth and creators of wealth. He undertook and drove a number of key projects as well as empower a young professional team in the process.

The Ministry of Finance, National Planning and Trade extends its thanks to PS Lebon for his dedication, energy and contribution and wishes him all the best in his new position in the private sector.

The appointment of a new Principal Secretary for Trade will be announced in due course.
