On behalf of the Government, the Ministry signed an Economic Security Partnership Agreement with the United Kingdom Government.
The signing was undertaken by Secretary of State, Mr. Patrick Payet (Seychelles Government) and British High Commissioner, H.E. Mr. Jeffrey Frank Glekin (UK Government).
The signing ceremony took place at Liberty House and was witnessed by Minister Naadir Hassan and Lord Collins of Highbury, Minister for Africa, who is on a working mission to Seychelles.
Six months following the signing of the UK-Seychelles Economic Security Partnerships, key stakeholders from both sides met for the first official review of the agreement.
The review was co-chaired by British High Commissioner, Jeff Glekin and Secretary of State for Finance, National Planning and Trade, Mr. Patrick Payet.
Other key stakeholders included ACCS, FIU, FSA and Seychelles Police and HM’s Revenue and Customs (UK).
The partnership includes commitments to work together on Transparency, Anti-Corruption, Virtual Assets and Policing with the aim of reducing vulnerabilities, tackling financial crime and ultimately making Seychelles and the UK safer and more secure places to do business.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continue the long-standing partnership.
