Ministry and World Bank host workshop on ‘Asset Management Coordination’

The Ministry is hosting a workshop on ‘Asset Management Coordination’, in collaboration with the World Bank.

The event is being attended by various stakeholders involved in asset management in the public service.

Opening the workshop, SS Patrick Payet emphasised on the ‘significance of domestic coordination for effective asset management, a critical area for the efficient management of government resources.’

Ms. Lisa Bostwick, Senior Financial Specialist for Financial Integrity (WB) noted that the coming together of all stakeholders is important in making asset management ‘achievable, efficient and profitable.’

During the next few days participants will gain knowledge on Asset Management Good Practices and the asset management framework within Seychelles.

SS Payet has urged participants to also boost their understanding on ‘pre-seizure planning’ which he said is a key component of the asset management lifecycle’ and is ‘an area where we can significantly improve in the Seychelles context.’

Two experts from World Bank is coordinating the workshop; Ms. Lisa Bostwick and Ms. Hermione Cronje.
