Press Advisory; increase in internet and Facebook frauds

Friday 18th May 2018, VICTORIA, SEYCHELLES: There has been an increase in online scams and frauds on Facebook and the internet during the past two years. This according to the Financial Investigation Unit, FIU. Scams that also involves thousands of Seychelles Rupees.
The Director of FIU, Philip Moustache, will be giving an interview at the Ministry of Finance, Trade, Investment and Economic Planning, Liberty House on Monday 21st May 2018, at 10.00a.m.
According to Director, Philip Moustache, there is a need to address this issues as soon as possible. All relevant partners, including the media are encouraged to help sensitise the population, especially internet, face book users on the dangers of this not using this medium properly.
