15TH MEETING OF THE SEYCHELLES-MAURITIUS TECHNICAL COMMITTEE OF THE JOINT COMMISSION OF THE EXTENDED CONTINENTAL SHELF & 10TH MEETING OF THE JOINT COMMISSION

Saturday 23rd October 2016, VICTORIA, SEYCHELLES: Seychelles will be hosting the 15th Meeting of the Seychelles-Mauritius Technical Committee of the Joint Management Area (JMA) and the 10th Meeting of the Joint Commissioners from Monday 24th to the 26th October 2016, at the Conference Room on the 6th Floor of the MLUH Independence House Annex Building; Victoria at 9.00a.m.

The aim of the technical meeting is to prepare for the Joint Commission Meeting which will take place on Wednesday 26th October. The technical meeting will be hosted by Mr. Raymond Chang-Tave, Special Advisor to the Minister of Land Use and Housing, whilst Mr. Philip Michaud, Special Advisor for the Ministry of Finance, Trade and the Blue Economy is heading the Seychelles delegation in the Joint Commission meeting on Wednesday. The Mauritius delegation is being headed by H.E. Ambassador J. Koonjul, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade and the Joint Management by Mr N.K. Ballah, Secretary to Cabinet and Head of the Civil Service.

 Mr. Chang-Tave and Ambassador J. Koonjul will both co-chair the Technical Meeting.

 The agenda will include among other things, the review and adoption of the Model Agreement for the conduct of Geotechnical survey (multi-client survey), Domestication of the Joint Fiscal and Taxation Code, Review of the legal framework for the Establishment of the Designated Authority as well aspreparation of report for the 10th Joint Commissioners Meeting.

A delegation of eleven people from Mauritius is already in the country.
