New fish processing plant…..a positive example of investment in more value addition in the sector, contributing positively towards the Blue Economy

A new fish processing plant, Fresh Seafood Seychelles PTY LTD is opening tomorrow, 4.30 p.m, Friday 17th June 2016, at Providence.
Fresh Seafood Seychelles PTY LTD is compliance to the European Union (EU) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) certification; hence can export globally.
This initiative is a positive example of investment in more value addition in the sector, contributing positively towards the Blue Economy. It will provide more options for processing and exports of Seychelles fish products and will also enhance options for using the Hook and line fishermen brand for example.
Mr. William Jacob, a young Seychellois entrepreneur is the owner. According to Mr. Jacob, the operation will be mainly value added products for local market and export. There are actually thirteen (13) staff working at the processing plant, (80%) locals. The company also owns three (3) fishing vessels.
Minister Jean Paul Adam, and Minister Wallace Cosgrow will be attending the ceremony. The opening of the new fish processing plant will take place tomorrow, Friday 17th June 2016, Providence. The media is invited.
