Financial Assistance hotline 190 now operational

May 15, 2020

Friday 15 May 2020: The Financial Assistance for Job Retention (FA4JR) Committee has announced that a new 3-digit hotline is now in operation for queries. Applicants are now advised to call the number 190 at the cost of a standard local call to get assistance filling out their application or renewal forms, or to query the status of their submitted application.

“The previous hotline number, 2828262, was very limited in terms of the number of calls it could take at the same time,” stated the Committee Chairperson, Secretary of State for Finance, Patrick Payet. “The new hotline number 190, which is operated by Cable and Wireless, has an increased technical capacity for simultaneous calls, enabling our team of support staff to assist higher volumes of people seeking advice.”

In light of the exceptional circumstances as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Airtel has agreed to waive the interconnect cost payable for transferring the calls from Airtel numbers to the Cable & Wireless network for the months of May, June and July.

The Ministry of Finance, Trade, Investment and Economic Planning thanks both Cable & Wireless and Airtel for their respective support of the hotline throughout the duration of the scheme.

Please note that the 190 hotline for the financial assistance scheme, like the previous hotline number, will be manned during office hours, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.
