Processing of La Misere compensation halted due to Public Health restrictions

April 07, 2020

Following the announcement on Tuesday 7 April by the Public Health Commissioner that there will be more severe limitations on the movement of people due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Seychelles, operations in a number of the departments within the Ministry of Finance, Trade, Investment and Economic Planning will be affected.

Members of the public are advised that all programmes involving direct interaction with the public will no longer go ahead, including the processing of compensation payments to those affected by the La Misere pollution incident in 2010.

With immediate effect the following activities will be put on hold until further notice:

-          Collection of National Identity cards

-          The disbursement of cheques to claimants

We thank you for your understanding and support in this challenging time.
