People encouraged to invest in three new bonds

Wednesday 13th February 2019, VICTORIA, SEYCHELLES: Interested individuals, commercial banks, companies, institutions, clubs, societies and other organizations will soon be able to take advantage of the new savings and or investment opportunities with the introduction of three new bonds.

This is being coordinated by the Ministry of Finance, Trade, Investment and Economic Planning, the Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS) and the Development Bank of Seychelles (DBS).

One of the bond will be issued directly by the Government, whilst the other two will be issued through the Development Bank of Seychelles (DBS) and will both be guaranteed by the Government. The details of the bonds are as follows;

The First Bond, amounting to SR50 million will be for a duration of three years. It will carry an interest rate of 6% per year (payable quarterly). The 6% Three Year bond will be issued by Development Bank of Seychelles (DBS) in April 2019.

The Second Bond, amounting to SR50 million will be for a duration of five years. The interest on the bond will be 6.5% per year (payable quarterly). The 6.5% Five Year bond will be issued by the Development Bank of Seychelles (DBS) in April 2019.

And the Third Bond, amounting to SR200 million, will be for a duration of seven years. The interest on the bond will be 7% per year (payable half yearly). The 7% Seven Year bond will be issued by the Government of Seychelles in July 2019.

Each bond will be issued in multiples of SR5,000, with a minimum value of SR5,000. An interview is being organized. We will let you know of the time as soon as possible.
