Chinese Government writes off Seychelles’ loan worth 5.5 million

Tuesday 14th August 2018, VICTORIA, SEYCHELLES: The Government of the Republic of China, has signed a protocol on partial debt relief with the Government of Seychelles, worth RMB 37,816, 400 ($5.5 million), with a view to support Seychelles’ economy and reducing its debt burden.
The loans form the Chinese government were for the provision of Economic and Technical Cooperation.
The signing was done by the Chinese Ambassador to Seychelles, AmbassadorH.E. Mrs. Yu Jinsong
representing the Republic of China and representing the Seychelles Government, by the Minister for Finance, Trade, Investment and Economic Planning, Maurice Loustau Lalanne, at Liberty House.
