Study visit by delegation from Cabo Verde to discuss the possibility of collaboration and promote good governance in fisheries sector through Blue Economy initiatives

As a follow up to discussions held in Washington on April 2016 during the 2016 Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group, a delegation from Cabo Verde will be in Seychelles from the 13th to the 15th September, to discuss collaboration possibilities and share experiences with Seychelles on the sustainable management of oceans and impacts of climate change on maritime economy.
They aim to learn from Seychelles’ experience of the country’s debt for nature swap initiative and also to know and understand the Seychelles approach to financing marine conservation and climate adaptation throughout sustainable financing mechanisms.
The mission is supported by the Sub-Regional West African Project under the World Bank and is a remarkable step in the strengthen cooperation between Seychelles and Cabo Verde, in terms of Small Insular States as well as within the community of nations.
The delegation is comprised of representatives from Finance and Administration, Maritime Economy, Fisheries, Environment, and Focal point of Cabo Verde Blue Economy initiatives.
