World Bank to open office in Seychelles
March 22, 2023
The World Bank Country Director, Idah Pswarayi-Riddihough, has announced that the organization will later this year open an office in Seychelles.
Ms. Pswarayi - Riddihough explained that by operating an office in Seychelles, the organization will have a 'smoother dialogue' with all local stakeholders, and enable the World Bank to better listen and understand local issues and 'then to be able to answer in a much more easy and flexible manner.'
"Why do we have offices in country is to make sure whatever results we may come out of, even experiences from overseas, ultimately they are contextualised into the Seychelles."
Ms. Pswarayi-Riddihough made the declaration, after she paid a courtesy call on President Wavel Ramkalawan, at State House, yesterday.
The Minister for Finance, National Planning and Trade, Naadir Hassan, was part of the presidential delegation that welcomed Ms. Pswarayi-Riddihough to State House.
