‘Developing the full potential of the digital economy is the way forward for Seychelles’, says Minister Hassan

A seminar, being organized in collaboration with ASEAN, under the theme ‘Digital Seychelles’ was officially opened this morning, at Eden Bleu, in the presence of President Wavel Ramkalawan, Vice President Ahmed Afif, and Ministers.
When addressing the seminar, Minister Naadir Hassan, has reiterated his call that ‘developing the full potential of the digital economy is the way forward for Seychelles.’
“Its implementation can only lead to more efficiency and productivity in the country, something the government is pushing for. The Digital Economy also has the potential to generate a new source of income for the country”.
Developing fully, the digital economy is one sector which the government has identified as a priority.
Since 2021, focus has been on laying the ground works for this sector. A Steering Committee, headed by Minister Hassan has been meeting regularly to set the policies and structures, through the development of a National Digital Economy Strategy, which will serve as a roadmap for the sector.
During the two days, participants will discuss various topics and issues, on how to push forward the Digital Economy Agenda, identify gaps and share experience with members of the ASEAN region.
The seminar, was officially launched by Vice President Afif.
