March 24, 2022

The training session for the full implementation of the Result-Based Management (RBM) Framework in the public service, got underway on Wednesday 23rd March, at the Guy Morel Institute.

The first group to attend the training is from the Education and Employment and Social Affairs Portfolios.

The participants, include Principal Secretaries/CEOs/Chairpersons, Heads of Accounts and Senior Accountants, Heads of Human Resources and Administration, Heads of Projects and all programme managers.

The training session will be conducted in three phases:

  • Planning
  • Costing and Monitoring and evaluating
  • Performance Management

The full roll out of the RBM Framework is being implemented in all public bodies that received their annual budget from the Consolidated Fund.

Chief Secretary of the Public Service Bureau, Ms. Shella Mohideen, told the media that civil servants must be part of that transformation.

“Things must be done differently, we cannot continue to do the same things, and expects different results."

The reform is part of the transformation that the Public Service Bureau is also undergoing, to transform from an administrative to a regulatory body.

For the full roll out of the RBM Framework training sessions, Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and all other budget dependent public bodies, have been clustered into eight groups, known as portfolios.

The sessions are being conducted by The Guy Morel Institute, as well as the Ministry of Finance, National Planning and Trade.
