New PS for Trade appointed and Ministry changes its name

Mr. Ronald Cafrine has been appointed as the new Principal Secretary for Trade.
He replaces Ms. Cillia Mangroo, who will now assume the post of Executive Director in the Office of the Minister.
Mr. Cafrine holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Essex, UK.
He has over 26 years of working experience in both the public and private sector. His most recent post in the public sector was as Commissioner General at the Seychelles Revenue Commission, which he held from September 2017 to May 2019, after which he joined the private sector.
Mr Cafrine’s appointment as PS Trade took effect from the 1st March, 2022.
In the same press release, issued from State House today, it was also announced that the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Trade will change its name to Ministry of Finance, National Planning and Trade.
