Closure of BSA Praslin Post Office

The Seychelles Postal Services is informing all its clients at Baie Ste Anne Praslin that its post office will be closed permanently on 15th March 2022.
All services, except PO BOX, will transfer to the Grand Anse Praslin Post Office, located in the Pension Fund Complex.
The PO BOX service will move to a new location at the Baie Ste Anne District Administration Office.
Speaking to the media this morning, the CEO of Seychelles Postal Services, Ms. Mariella Buisson, explained the reason behind the closure of the Post Office.
"The operating cost of the Baie Ste Anne Praslin Post Office is around R1.3 million annually, while revenue is around R292,000, annually. It makes better sense for SPS to migrate its services to one post office on the island, to cut cost."
All six staff of the BSA Post Office will transfer to the Grand Anse Praslin Post Office.
To note, Praslin currently has 2 post offices, one in each district, while La Digue only has one and on the main island of Mahe, there are only two.
The Seychelles Postal Services falls under the aegis of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Trade.
