COVID 19 Variant, 'Omicron' has NOT been detected in Seychelles

The highest authority dealing with the COVID 19 pandemic, Platinum Committee, chaired by President Wavel Ramkalawan, has confirmed that the COVID 19 variant, Omicron' has NOT been detected in Seychelles.

On Sunday 28th November, the Committee, met to discuss the situation, as there's been a recent increase in the number of COVID 19 positive cases detected.

Minister for Finance, Economic Planning and Trade, Naadir Hassan is a member of the Committee.

The Committee has agreed to introduce new curbing measures, mainly, to discourage members of the public from gatheringĀ in public areas, especially outside bars and restaurants.

Meanwhile, members of the public are being urged to get their vaccine against the COVID 19 virus.

The Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Trade joins with the authorities to appeal to everyone to get vaccinated against COVID 19 and to adhere to the measures, which are aimed at protecting the people and ensuring the economic recovery continues on its positive trajectory.
