Minister Hassan meets former Minister for Finance

Minister Naadir Hassan and Mr. Pierre Laporte, a former Minister for Finance and also a former Governor of the Central Bank of Seychelles.

 

Mr. Laporte, was one of the pioneers of the 2008 Economic Reform Program.

 

He was appointed Governor of CBS in November 2008, and four years later, in 2012, he became the Minister for Finance, Trade and Investment. He held that position for three years.

 

In 2015, he was appointed as the World Bank’s Country Director for Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea, Benin, Burkina Faso and Togo.

 

Currently, he is the WB's Country Director for Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

 

Prior to 2008, Mr. Laporte had worked at the International Monetary Fund for six years.

 

To note, Minister Hassan was working at the CBS, when Mr. Laporte was the Governor.
