National Assembly approves budget of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Trade

The consolidated budget of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Trade has been approved by the National Assembly.
The ministry's session which started at 4pm, went up to nearly 8pm, as MNAs discussed and voted on the allocated budget of the three departments making up the Ministry.
- Department of Finance - allocated budget R120,158 million - Approved.
- Department of Economic Planning - allocated budget R3,134 million - Approved
- Department of Trade - allocated budget R141,825 million - Approved
The vote for the Department of Finance was 26 in favour and 1 abstention.
The vote for the Department of Economic Planning was 29 in favour
The vote for the Department of Trade was 29 in favour.
All 29 MNAs voted in favour for the consolidated budget of the Ministry which amounts to R265,117 million.
The Ministry was represented by Minister Naadir Hassan. Patrick Payet, Secretary of State in the Ministry. The Principal Secretary for Finance, Damien Thesee. The Principal Secretary for Economic Planning, Elizabeth Agathine and the Principal Secretary for Trade, Cilia Mangroo. Also present was Comptroller General, Irene Croisee.
