Donation from DBS towards COVID-19 Relief Fund

Another banking institution has donated money towards the COVID-19 Relief Fund.
This afternoon, the Chief Executive Officer of the Development Bank of Seychelles, (DBS), Daniel Gappy, presented a cheque worth R50,000 to the Secretary of State for Finance, Patrick Payet.
The donation took place at Liberty House, the Headquarters of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Trade.
Accepting the donation, SS Payet expressed his gratitude to DBS.
“We know that it has not been easy for DBS, but this gesture shows how at this difficult time, everyone wants to help.’
He noted that at this juncture, where the pandemic has shown us we can no longer rely on just tourism, ‘DBS will have a key role to play in the diversification of our economy’.
On behalf of DBS, Mr Gappy said they heed the call from the President and the donation is their contribution towards this cause.
“We have provided a small token and in addition to that, DBS has a major role, in terms of assisting to keep the economy moving.”
Also present at the ceremony was the Deputy CEO of DBS, Jean Preira and the Chairperson of the Seychelles Bankers Association, Mr. Phillip Moustache.
To note, the donation today for the COVID-19 Relief Fund, is the third this week by a banking institution.
On Tuesday 02nd February, the Bank of Baroda and Al Salam Bank, both presented a donation of R50,000 each.
