More Finance staff graduates in Diploma in public Finance Management

Darryn Mederic, Myvonne Uranie, Sabrina Belle, Joanne Rapiera and Kenneth Augustin, are proud recipients of a Diploma in Public Finance Management, whilst Ms Josemma Laporte, a Diploma in General Management. They received their certificates in a special ceremony, at UNISEY, Anse Royale.
Kenneth Augustin, got a distinction in Diploma in public Finance Management and was also awarded overall best in his field. Kenneth has been working as an Audit Technician at the Internal Audit, for two years now, prior to that he spent eight years at the Treasury Unit. He says that this achievement shows the sacrifices and dedication he had invested and made over the past 3 years and he now has his goal focused on going for a Masters in accounting or financial area.
And like for many others, he says that he was provided with this opportunity for this training and without hesitation he went for it. Kenneth encourages others to continue to learn, and build their capacities. “Don’t start late, stay focused and do what you have to do to accomplish your goal”, he says.
Darryn Mederick for his part, is an Assistant Accounts Administrator at the Treasury Unit, and has been an employed with the Ministry since September 2011. He also received his Diploma in public Finance Management, along with Ms Myvonne Uranie, Auditor, from the Internal Audit, who has clocked 23 years with the Ministry. Myvonne is also very active in the Office Choir of the Ministry of Finance, Trade, Investment and Economic Planning.
Sabrina Belle, Accounts Technician at the Seychelles Land Transport Agency who has worked for the Ministry since January 2013. And Joanne Louange Rapiera, also Accounts Technician, Public Accounts-Prison Services since January 2013.
A Diploma in General Management for Ms Josemma Laporte, means more opportunities, prospects and career advancement. In the same ceremony at UNISEY, Josemma received her long-awaited certificate; a diploma in General Management. She spent almost 3 years studying and handing in assignments like the others. She said that it was a bit hectic with her workload as Private Secretary, to the Principal Secretary for Trade, but she noted that it was all worth the effort.
Her next move is a degree in Business Administration and aspires to be a Trade Officer.
