Business Opportunity Seminar Enhance Procurement Reforms
Representatives of companies in the trading of goods, provision of works, and representatives of small and medium size enterprises took part in a business opportunity seminar Saturday July 25. The participants had the opportunity to improve their knowledge on how to win tenders and effectively take part in the procurement process across the COMESA region.

The objective of the business opportunity seminar, which was held at the International Conference Centre of Seychelles from 9am, was to provide the private sector or business community with a better understanding of tendering processes as stipulated in the COMESA Directives on public procurement.

“Such seminars are being held with a view to stimulate economic development and facilitating small and medium-sized enterprises in the COMESA region at large,” says director for procurement oversight, Ms. Marie-Nella Nancy, “The participants should now be able to formulate possible solutions for better procurement participation.”

The seminar is part of the COMESA enhancing procurement reforms and capacity project started and is being facilitated by the International Law Institute and Procurement Oversight unit.
