Public Enterprise Monitoring Division

The Public Enterprise Monitoring Division (PEMD) was established in September 2009 with the main role of:

  • Providing ownership advice to the Government on the autonomous or semi autonomous public organisations
  • Monitoring the performance of those public organisations and
  • Advising Parent Ministers on governance and risk relating to this specific sector.

PEMD monitors 61 public organizations of which 9 are registered under the Companies Act with the remainder established under a separate legal instrument. Collectively and individually, these organisations provide important products and services and make a significant contribution to the national economy and well-being of the community.
