Administration

The Administration Division of the Ministry of Finance is responsible for the direction, support, and coordination of all of the administrative matters for the Ministry. This is achieved through a focus on Human Resources, Personnel, Operations, Accounts and Systems Support further explained below:

Human Resource Development:

  • Improving the skills, knowledge, abilities, and competencies necessary for individual and organizational efficiency and productivity as well as personal career growth.
  • Nurturing and instilling positive thinking to ensure that employees adopt a positive attitude towards work.
  • Promoting and fostering the culture of the Ministry in everyday work ethics of all employees.

 

Personnel:

  • Applying personnel rules and regulations so as to guarantee high levels of discipline, fairness, and equity among employees.
  • Centralizing personnel records, personnel files and databases
  • Recruitment for the Ministry
  • Ensuring that compensation, gratuity and other statutory dues are settled correctly and in a timely manner
  • Ensuring that appraisals are completed in a timely manner
  • Dealing with any disciplinary issues

 

Operations:

  • Overseeing the security team, office cleaning and transport services
  • Purchasing of goods, material and equipment for the Ministry
  • Dealing with the Ministry’s telephone services and messenger mail service

 

Accounts:

  • Paying for all purchases made by the Ministry in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that the Ministry applies all Finance Instructions and budget allocations are not overspent
  • Reporting the Ministry’s monthly expenditure.
  • Maintaining the accounting and expenditure records for the Ministry

 

Systems Support:

  • Maintaining all of the Ministry’s IT requirements
  • Ensuring that personnel of the Ministry are kept abreast with the development in technology especially in the use of information technology systems.
  • Ensuring the integrity and proper functioning of the many systems utilized by the operating divisions
  • Advising on any pitfalls or hazardous IT practices
