Overall Function
  • Co-ordinate and develop a sound macro-economic framework for Seychelles.
  • Plan and execute budget programs in line with fiscal objectives.
  • Regularly review the financial and economic performance of the state and respond efficiently to changes when necessary.
  • Ensure consistence and fairness to all economic agents in Seychelles in the formulation of laws and regulations related to fiscal or economic policy.

The Ministry of Finance, in pursuit of its mission, has a wide mandate with responsibility for:

The Ministry’s role and functions brings the organisation into contact with all Ministries, Government Departments and sectors in society. The Ministry’s operations are the subject of several laws and regulations including the Public Finance and Management Act, Business Tax Regulations Act, Trade Tax Act, Social Security Act, Consumer Protection Act to name a few.
